Child kills uncle, injures father after accidentally firing rifle
A 12-year-old boy killed his uncle and injured his father after accidentally firing a hunting rifle late on Saturday.
 
Fishy deaths
Dead fish are seen on the bank of Chungkang Creek in Miaoli County Friday on Nov. 18. The local official who took the photo estimated that there were more than 10,000 putrefying fish stretching over several kilometers along the mouth of the creek. The cause of the deaths was not known.

Police capture a man, surnamed Huang, center, after finding he and his accomplices had stolen more than 2.5 tons of rare wood from a state-owned forest in Miaoli County. The stolen wood is estimated to be worth more than NT$5 million.

The workers were installing a steel structure when the accident occurred. One of the workers did not show any vital signs upon arrival at a local hospital, firefighters said.
 
Wanted woman arrested by the police while playing 'Pokemon Go'
A woman wanted by police was picked up Sunday in Miaoli County after she was stopped on her scooter by traffic patrol officers while she was playing the virtual reality game Pokemon Go, one day after its launch in Taiwan, police said.
