The past is still alive in Lukang old townIn my opinion, that’s the beauty of Lukang, where the past still lingers on — in its art and architecture. And it deserves a visit, just to pay tribute to that indomitable spirit... if nothing else. For those who want more, there are some beautiful temples, one of which is the Lukang Longshan temple, one of the older temples in Taiwan from the Qing dynasty. Lukang Folk Art Museum is an impressive museum housing stimulating exhibits from Taiwan’s folk world. How to get there: By train/bus — Take a southbound train/bus from Taipei to Changhua. From there take a bus to Lukang; buses run every half hour. To make the trip short, you can take the high speed rail to Taichung (台中), and from there board a bus to Changhua (彰化). By car — From Taipei take one of the two southbound freeways. Exit at Changhua exit, then take County road 142, and drive for about 11 kilometers to reach Lukang. | ||||||||||||||||||||
