TAIPEI -- Investors and health care companies from home and abroad will explore business opportunities at 2012 BioBusiness Asia next week, the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) said yesterday.
Representatives from international financial service firms such as JPMorgan will also share their views on the prospects of the biotech and pharmaceutical industry in Asia at the conference, said Wu Chuang-han, an official with ITRI, the event's organizer.
"The biotech industry in the Asia region is gaining global attention," Wu said.
For three consecutive years, the ITRI has arranged over 300 one-on-one meetings for business capital investors and biotech companies during the annual conference, Wu said.
Although he did not specify the amount of business generated from the conference, Wu said there is a growing demand for matchmaking arrangements, meaning that investors are eyeing the market in the Asia Pacific region."
