ADB to showcase cutting-edge solutions

Building on its leadership in hybrid technologies and its track-record in helping operators of many fast-growing countries transition to digital pay-TV, ADB will showcase a range of cutting edge solutions at the 18th Convergence India in New Delhi.

Among them are solutions that play DivX videos and Internet content on TV; applications for intuitive, feature-rich digital TV watching; Smooth-View, a high definition technology enabling crystal clear video and audio in playback, fast-forwarding and slow motion modes; and solutions that connect all the home digital devices — such as TV, digital cameras, laptops and others — to make the consumer home a true digital center.

At the same time, ADB will hold a presentation titled “Leapfrogging from analogue directly to advanced pay-TV services,” during which ADB will share its experience helping operators make a quick transition from analogue directly to advanced, innovative pay TV services, a model that has proven successful in many regions where a more traditional approach would have left consumers with obsolete second-rate services.

“Digitalization offers a great opportunity for Indian operators, and advanced pay-TV services are the key to win against all the entertainment choices that the consumer has,” said Francois Pogodalla, Chief Executive Officer, ADB. “We seek to provide Indian operators with advanced, yet cost-effective pay-TV solutions, delivering a new consumer TV experience.”
