Fubon talking with Chinese company on asset venture

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Fubon Financial Holding Co., Taiwan's second-largest publicly traded financial-services company, is in talks with a Chinese company to form an asset management venture in the mainland, Victor Kung, president of Fubon Financial, said in a briefing in Taipei yesterday.

The company has also submitted an application to China's securities regulator to apply for approval as a qualified foreign institutional investor, or QFII, he said.
