Updated Tuesday, March 9, 2010 11:10 am TWN, Bloomberg TAIPEI, Taiwan -- CPC Corp., Taiwan's state-owned oil company, said it restarted a gasoline-making unit at its Kaohsiung oil refinery Monday after a five-month stoppage. The fluid catalytic cracker resumed operations after fuel demand improved, Vice President Lin Maw-Wen said by telephone in Taipei Monday. The unit, able to process 25,000 barrels of fuel a day, was shut in early October to avoid refining losses. CPC operates three refineries — the Kaohsiung and Talin plants in Kaohsiung City, and Taoyuan — with a combined processing capacity of 720,000 barrels of crude oil a day.
