Taiwan's foreign exchange reserves hit US$352.73 bil.

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Taiwan's foreign exchange reserves climbed higher in February, hitting a new high of US$352.73 billion as of the end of the month, the Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan) said yesterday.

The total was US$2.02 billion more than at the end of January, the central bank said, attributing the growth to returns on investment. Taiwan remained the world's fourth largest foreign exchange holder, trailing China (US$2.4 trillion as of December 2009), Japan (US$1 trillion in January), and Russia (US$392.4 billion in January).
