Taiwan Semiconductor proposes share dividend

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., the world's largest maker of chips designed by other companies, said its board plans to give shareholders NT$3 cash dividend a share on 2009 profit, the company said in an e-mailed statement Tuesday.

The Hsinchu, Taiwan-based chipmaker also proposed NT$13.4 billion on employee bonus and profit sharing, according to the statement. The company will seek shareholders' approval on the dividend and employee bonus plans on June 15, it said.
