Updated Thursday, November 19, 2009 10:41 am TWN, The China Post news staff Ford appoints Albert Li to head Ford Lio Ho in Taiwan from 2010The incoming head is currently an executive deputy general manager at Changan Ford Mazda Automobile (CFMA), Nanjing Co. based in China. In his new role, Li will oversee Ford's entire business operation in the country and will be responsible for growing the Ford and Mazda brands, while directing the day-to-day operations of Ford's Taiwan manufacturing facility. In his current role at CFMA, Li has played a crucial role in building the joint-venture's new assembly plant in Nanjing, which manufactures the all-new global Ford Fiesta and Mazda2. A 21-year Ford veteran, Li has held a variety of senior management positions in many key markets prior to his latest appointment. Li completed an extensive rotation of management positions in North America before relocating to Thailand in 1996 as manufacturing controller of AutoAlliance Thailand, the Ford-Mazda joint-venture manufacturing facility, and sales finance director of Ford Sales Thailand, where he was instrumental in helping launch the Ford Ranger pickup. After returning to the U.S. in 1999, he helped develop the financial valuation for Land Rover and other acquisitions. In 2000, he was appointed vice president and CFO of Ford China, a position he held until his transfer to CFMA in 2004. A Canadian national, Li earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in business administration in finance from the University of Toronto in Canada.
