TCA chair wants cross-strait cooperation

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Taiwan and China should work together on WiMAX and digital books, said J.T. Wang, chairman of the Taipei Computer Association (TCA), yesterday.

Wang made the remarks at a cross-strait technology forum held at Taipei's Grand Hotel.

“Both sides should work on WiMAX and digital books,” he said. “I believe COMPUTEX TAIPEI will provide a good platform for collaboration.”

COMPUTEX TAIPEI, organized annually by TCA and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, is the world's second-largest information technology trade show, second only to CeBIT held in Hannover, Germany.

Each year, COMPUTEX TAIPEI attracts exhibitors from over 180 countries and some 40,000 visitors, he said.

Wang is the chairman of Acer Inc., a leading global PC manufacturer.
