Colder temps and rain for Taiwan Tuesday

The arrival of a new cold front is bringing lower temperatures and some rain throughout Taiwan on Tuesday, according to the Central Weather Bureau.

Highs will range from 20 to 21 C in Northern Taiwan, 24 to 26 C in the east and southeast, and 28 to 30 C in the central and southern parts of the island.

Low temperatures in the range of 15 to 16 C, as well as scattered showers, can be expected in the north and northeast.

Starting in the afternoon, winds will also begin picking up with gale strength winds ranging on the scale of 8 to 10 in areas north of Tainan, as wells as the offshore islands.

The bureau is reminding residents that weather this week will alternate repeatedly between dry conditions and rain.
