Nation could be set for warmer winter: CWB

TAIPEI -- Taiwan will see a warmer winter this year, and the median temperature could set a record high, the Center Weather Bureau (CWB) predicted Tuesday.

CWB Weather Forecast Center Deputy Director Shang Chun-sheng issued the prediction when looking ahead to Taiwan's weather between December and next February, but he added that several cold waves were still possible despite the warmer weather.

There should also be less rain this winter, especially in January, Shang said, and he advised people to do their best to conserve water.
