75% of local employers to hire new graduates: survey

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Seventy-five percent of employers in Taiwan are willing to hire new college graduates, with 76 percent of them offering NT$25,000 or higher as a starting salary, according to the results of a survey released by a manpower agency Tuesday.

The survey found that 54 percent of the employers that responded to the survey are offering starting salaries ranging between NT$25,000 and NT$30,000 to fresh graduates.

Fifteen percent said they were offering less than NT$25,000, and the rest said they had not made a decision.

The survey, which questioned 1,000 Taiwanese employers, was conducted in July by Manpower Group.
