Taipei, Shanghai schools hold cultural exchange concert

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Taipei Municipal Zhongzheng Junior High School's (台北市中正國中) Chinese orchestra recently visited Shanghai Zhenru Junior High School (上海真如國中) to exchange thoughts on music and to hold a concert at the Zhang Zheng cultural center (長征文化中心).
The concert was successful, as many in the audience say they enjoyed the music and the students learned more about the education system in mainland China. In addition, the visit also made the students of Zhenru Junior High School want to learn more about Taiwan. Therefore, they paid their visit to Taiwan on Aug. 19, fulfilling their wish to learn in a different environment.
Huang Minhua (黃敏華), deputy director-general of the Bureau of Education, Putuo District of Shanghai, said that he hopes there will be more exchanges in the future in various areas including art, sports, environmental issues and charity events. These kinds of activities can bring benefits to both areas and help citizens to learn more about each other.
In addition, Chou Ming-hung (周銘鴻), the head of the Kuomintang (KMT) for Daan District, also stated that this type of event can not only enhance the friendship between two areas but can also improve students' skills through exchanging.
