TAIPEI, Taiwan -- In response to the media wanting to know if he will accept the Ice Bucket Challenge, Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. (鴻海精密) Chairman Terry Gou (郭台銘) said yesterday that “you will see it tomorrow.”
Gou was nominated by Lei Jun (雷軍), the founder of Xiaomi Tech, one of China's largest technology companies, to take the challenge. Besides Gou, Lei also nominated Hong Kong celebrity Andy Lau (劉德華) and Chinese search engine Baidu co-founder Robin Li (李彥宏).
Sources say Gou will post a video on YouTube tomorrow before noon to show his pouring ice water over his head. Many are curious about which three people Gou will nominate to take the Ice Bucket Challenge.
The Ice Bucket Challenge is an activity involving dumping a bucket of ice water on one's head or donating US$100 to fund amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) research. It went viral throughout social media in summer, 2014. Those who have both doused themselves in ice water and donated the money get to nominate three more people to take the challenge.
