TAIPEI--A suicide prevention group is asking people young and old alike to join the Taiwan leg of a worldwide simultaneous cycling event that will see people riding on two wheels in cities across the world next month.
The Cycle Around the Globe campaign, initiated by the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP), is calling for participants to join together to help prevent suicide, the Taiwan Suicide Prevention Center said Monday.
"Let us join the world and participate in this world-class event," the center said in a statement.
The campaign aims to set people cycling on every continent on Sept. 10, World Suicide Prevention Day, to collectively travel the some 40,075 kilometer circumference of the globe, the association said on its official website.
