Man jumps off a building, killing woman on ground

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- A man surnamed Wu jumped from the 10th floor of the building where he lives, accidentally crashing into a woman surnamed Lee at ground level, in Taipei, yesterday. The impact killed both of them.

Taipei City Fire Department was informed yesterday that there was a serious accident at Section 2, Heping East Road at 8 a.m. yesterday. When the ambulance arrived at the scene, paramedics found a man and a woman on the ground with no sign of breathing or a heartbeat. They were immediately taken to the hospital.

According to the police, Wu, aged 21, was a resident of the building and was suspected to have jumped from the 10th floor while Lee, aged 42, was chatting with other residents in the courtyard of the building.

The police also found that Wu might have suffered from mental illness. He lived with his parents in the building. Wu had no former history of any physical illness and he didn't leave any last words.

"no signs of physical illness"? If you jump off a roof then that's mental illness!

A lack of history doesn't mean a lack of illness. Many individuals don't receive the help they need due to the fear of 'losing face' either themselves or their family. This is one aspect of society I hate, more important to look respectable rather than seek help and that will shame the family bla bla bla. Very primitive and backward thinking.

The man also showed that he was selfish as he should have checked to make sure the coast was clear, look before you leap!
