TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE, 台灣永續能源基金會) announced its partnership with Bloomberg as a data partner for the annual Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards (“TCSA”) yesterday.
Following a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between TAISE and Bloomberg, the awards will be based on Bloomberg's environmental social and governance (ESG) data, which covers more than 10,000 companies in 52 countries, TAISE stated.
The TCSA recognizes achievements in corporate social responsibility (CSR), progress toward attaining corporate sustainability, and aims to encourage greater awareness around the importance of CSR, said the TAISE.
This year marks the seventh annual competition, with past year's competitors representing 71 percent of Taiwan's GDP, revealing the importance that Taiwan's industry places on the awards, according to TAISE.
The convener of the awards, Chairman Eugene Chien (簡又新), remarked, “Bloomberg has been vital in driving awareness around corporate social responsibility through its reporting and provision of ESG data, we are proud to be working with them to ensure that listed companies are accurately disclosing their efforts and participants are encouraging one another to do more.”
Submissions for the 2014 TCSA will close on Aug. 15. Award categories include the Top Ten Most Sustainable Company Awards, Taiwan Top 50 Corporate Sustainability Report Awards, Growth through Innovation Awards, Transparency and Integrity Awards, Climate Leadership Awards, Creativity in Communication Awards, Social Inclusion Awards and Supply Chain Leadership Awards.
