A suspect, surnamed Guo (郭), was arrested on July 25 for narcotics manufacturing and firearms modification in Taipei, according to the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB).
According to the CIB, Guo was arrested at Beitou District in Taipei City on July 15 in the presence of various narcotics, including amphetamines, ketamine, narcotic ingredients as well as modified guns, three bullets, and related tools.
Earlier this year, the Telecommunications Investigation Corps of CIB has received tips about Guo related to allegations involving firearm modification and attempted murder. He allegedly sold firearms and modified guns for a living at a factory in Beitou.
After several months of investigations, Wenshan Second Precinct of Taipei City Police Department and Beitou Precinct launched a raid to arrest Guo, according to the bureau.
According to police, Guo broke his legs during his attempt to flee from the scene by jumping from his apartment on the second floor of a Beitou apartment. He was later sent to Cheng Hsin General Hospital for emergency surgery.
Police will work to investigate the source of narcotics and the firearms, the CIB added.
