CAL cancels Friday flights from Taiwan to Okinawa

TAIPEI--China Airlines (CAL), Taiwan's largest air carrier, said Thursday it will call off flights to Okinawa in Japan on Friday due to Tropical Storm Nakri. The airline said its round trip Flights CI210 and CI121 between Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and Okinawa that day will be cancelled.

As of 2 p.m., Tropical Storm Nakri was centered about 500 kilometers east of Taipei, moving in a north-northwesterly direction at 19 km per hour on a path that was projected to bring it between Taiwan and Okinawa. It was packing maximum sustained winds of 64.8 kph, with gusts reaching 90 kph, the bureau said.
