AAC begins investigation of ex-minister's accusation

TAIPEI -- The Agency Against Corruption (AAC) under the Executive Yuan kicked off an investigation Wednesday into allegations made by former Labor Minister Pan Shih-wei that some high-ranking officials used government budget without following government rules.

Pan was summoned earlier in the day as a witness, agency officials said.

According to the agency, Pan was asked to provide evidence to allegations he made on his Facebook page that some “senior-level public servants” who he claimed have been colluding with one another to manipulate budget to facilitate their own use.

In a Facebook post, Pan alleged that it was these people, whose attempts to misuse public fund he had frustrated, that successfully took their revenge by forcing him to quit.
