Taiwan wins LLB region title, enters World Series

MANILA -- Taiwan won the big league division at the Little League Baseball (LLB) Asia-Pacific qualification tournament Friday with a rout of the Philippines.

The Taiwanese team scored 26-0 against the Philippines over the first three innings at the tournament, being held June 30-July 6 in Clark Freeport Zone, north of the Philippine capital of Manila.

The Philippines forfeited, finishing the game 0-7 against Taiwan. In the event of forfeiture, the score is recorded as 7-0, as Little League baseball games last for seven innings.

The Taiwanese team, composed of students from the Ping Jen Senior High School in Taoyuan County, will represent the big league division of the LLB Asia-Pacific region in the LLB World Series, to be held July 23-30 in Easley, South Carolina.
