Former TSMC VP Chen appointed to position with CHT

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Chunghwa Telecom Co. (CHT, 中華電信) announced that its board of directors has appointed Chen Bo-yung (陳伯鏞) as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of CHT, effective May 15.
Chen most recently served as Vice President and CFO of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) Solid State Lighting (台積固態照明) and TSMC Solar (台積太陽能) since 2012. From 2008 to 2011, he served as General Manager of Operations and CFO of Ralink Technology (雷凌科技), where he was responsible for completing a merger and acquisition of Trendchip Technology (誠致科技) and MediaTek Inc.(聯發科).
From 2002 to 2008, he served as senior vice president and CFO of Silicon Integrated Systems (矽統科技). From 1996 to 2002, he was vice president of Corporate Finance Division of Citibank. Chen holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor's degree in international trade from National Taiwan University.
