TAIPEI--Presidential Office spokeswoman Garfie Li will take over as the deputy chief of the Kuomintang's (KMT) Culture and Communications Committee as part of a personnel reshuffle in the party's spokesperson system.
Li, who will also head the committee's cultural department, will take over the post from Yin Wei, who will serve as a presidential aide and office spokesman, according to a statement issued by the KMT Saturday.
Chen Yi-hsin, another deputy chief of the Culture and Communications Committee, and the committee's director, Fan Chiang Tai-chi, will be responsible for KMT media communications and announcements, the statement said.
Presidential Office deputy spokesperson Ma Wei-kuo will also be promoted to office spokesman along with Yin, the statement said.
Ma will replace Li as the main media conduit of the office while Yin will coordinate policy and focus more on mid- and long-term agenda planning.
Tony Kuo, dean of the International Office of Shih Chien University, will head the National Development Institute, filling a vacancy left when the institute's former president, Kao Huei, passed away in February.
Kuo will also be responsible for folding the party's youth wings into the institute and bringing together youth recruitment and training functions, the statement said.
