CPC gas and diesel prices drop by NT$0.2 per liter

State-run CPC Co. (CPC, 中油) yesterday announced that the per-liter price of domestic fuel will be slashed by NT$0.2 effective midnight today.
Following the change, motorists are excepted to benefit from savings of NT$10 each time they fill the tank, with the prices for 92-, 95- and 98-octane unleaded gasoline expected to fall at NT$33.7, NT$35.2, and NT$37.2 respectively. The price of premium diesel is set to reach NT$32.6 per liter.
According to the CPC, the company's floating oil price index calculated as the sum of 70 percent Dubai Crude and 30 percent Brent Crude reached US$106.32, down US$0.6 compared to the previous period. Coupled with the latest strength of the New Taiwan Dollar, which swelled by NT$0.054 against the U.S. greenback, the company warranted an adjustment of 0.59 percent, or NT$0.2 this week.
Meanwhile, effective at 1 a.m. today, per-liter fuel prices at gas stations operated by Formosa Petrochemical (台塑化) will be adjusted to NT$33.6, NT$35.2 and NT37.4 for 92-, 95- and 98-octane unleaded gasoline, with the premium diesel priced at NT$32.6.
