CWB announces warning on broad weather changes

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said yesterday that, as a result of the seasonal northeast monsoon, a change in weather and temperatures will be observed around Taiwan today.

Morning temperatures around Northern Taiwan are expected to range between 19 to 27 degrees Celsius. Mountainous areas in the North, East, Center and South of Taiwan are likely to experience occasional showers, as is the case with Kinmen and Matsu. All other areas will be partly cloudy. The seasonal monsoon is set to continue until May 1, said a CWB representative, who advised the general public to stay warm.

CWB also stated that sizable waves could potentially occur along the northern coast of Keelung, Matsu and eastern coastal areas of Taiwan, warning citizens vacationing at the beach to look out for personal safety.
