More moderate weather forecast through Saturday

TAIPEI -- Taiwan will see mild weather through Saturday, the Central Weather Bureau forecast Thursday following heavy rainfall early in the day.

Rain clouds with abundant moisture have begun moving away from Taiwan, though showers will remain likely in northern and eastern parts of the country and mountainous area in central Taiwan, forecasters said.

Higher temperatures are expected in the days to come, with daytime highs at around 30 degrees Celsius across the island, the bureau said.

On Friday, the mercury is likely to hover from 22 to 29 degrees in northern Taiwan, 23 to 31 degrees in central Taiwan, and 25 to 30 degrees in southern Taiwan.
