TAIPEI--A Filipino worker has been arrested in connection with the death of a grocery store owner in Luzhu Township in Taoyuan County after allegedly stabbing the merchant in the neck with a screwdriver, a police spokesman said yesterday.

The 31-year-old Filipino man headed to a store in Luzhu late Friday night and got into an argument with the owner of the store, identified only by his surname Lin, after Lin rejected his request to borrow money, according to a Taoyuan County Police Bureau spokesman.
