Peja Stojakovic visits to promote NBA Youth Madness

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- NBA legend Peja Stojakovic recently visited Taiwan to promote the 2014 Cathay NBA Youth Madness basketball competition to take place this summer.

Stojakovic showed up at a press conference announcing the event on March 21, and then conducted a workshop with 24 college basketball players in Taipei.

The NBA legend also visited several local colleges and universities during his stay in Taiwan to promote basketball.

The three-on-three basketball competition will take place at over 50 colleges and other venues around Taiwan from June 21 to July 13, said the organizer, Cathay Financial Holding Company.

This is the fourth edition of the annual competition, and more than 25,000 players have taken part in it over the years, Cathay said.

The competition is divided into men and women divisions, with preliminaries taking place separately in Southern, Central and Northern Taiwan, the organizer said.
