Student activists propose 'civic parliament' creation

TAIPEI -- Protesters who have occupied the Legislative Yuan's main chamber for 18 days proposed a “civic parliament” Friday, saying that they will implement what they described as “direct democracy” to review draft legislation regarding a Taiwan-China agreement-monitoring mechanism.

The meetings will start the next day with expected attendance of over 1,500 people in 60 groups, and lawmakers from across party lines are welcome to join, said Lin Fei-fan, a leading figure in the occupation that began March 18.

A day earlier, the Cabinet approved the “Statute for the Processing and Monitoring of Agreements between the Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area.”

The protesters' move, however, is not lawful and the results of the review will be invalid, according to the Republic of China Constitution.

In response to the ruling Kuomintang's (KMT's) call for the protesters to leave the Legislative Yuan, Lin said that “I would like to tell President Ma Ying-jeou that you won't be able to force us to leave.”

Lin also encouraged more KMT lawmakers to “stand with the people and respond to the students' demands.”

Some protesters that day also distributed leaflets to passersby in New Taipei's Banqiao District, KMT legislative whip Lin Hung-chih's constituency, to pressure KMT lawmakers.

The latest poll by the Taiwan Brain Trust found that among 2.200 randomly selected people contacted via telephone, 78.3 percent of the respondents were dissatisfied with the KMT's performance over the handling of the proposed trade pact, while 52.9 percent were disappointed in the DPP. Just a reminder that the pot should not call the kettle black all the time…
p.s. I'm a NOT pro-DPP trying to keep an open mind

Someone should teach the story of the ancient nations of Athens and Sparta to these students. Sparta's rulers concentrated on developing its military while Athens had a direct democracy and debated everything. One day Sparta conquered Athens. If these students are so brilliant, they will know that we no longer militarily nor economically stronger than Mainland China. They will live to see and regret their nonsense when the Legislative Yuan become the Taipei office of the Great Hall of the People and their passports will bear the emblem of the PRC.

The puppeteers manipulating behind this group has come up with another "brilliant" idea of the street parliamentarian form of government. They already have a permanent office at the sidewalks of chungshan south road in Taipei which they have occupied for years, for free, while sidewalk vendors are fined for occupying these sidewalks. Now they have expanded their offices, occupying quindao e.rd. and jinan rd. still for free causing untold miseries to residents on the area. These are illegal acts, but they're immune from arrests because they are DPP students. They control the courts so they know that they are the law, even the police are afraid of "touching" them lest they might be prosecuted. The people should not forget who to vote for in coming elections, whether they want street parliamentarians to rule over them or the civilized lawmakers.

BLACK SHIRT Student activist leader Lin Fei-fan makes another demand again to form “civic parliament".

REMEMBER Lin Fei-fan
_Major government decisions must be taken by people (President and Lawmaker) being elected by the people during elections. That is Democratic form of government suppose to be, and should NOT being dictate by the loser minority of any party line politician using activist to obstruct the government to push forward for the good of our country and entire people.

_The majority have to decide which people will run the country. NOT those activists to decide in supporting the loser.

REMEMBER LIN...
Even if you Kidnap Legislative Yuan and held hostage of 23 M and make demand. The concern citizens and the majority will resist your criminal act against their choice of right and human right.

REMEMBER AGAIN.
_Foreign country will NOT tolerate and allow any groups of their citizens to occupy their congress and parliament and held hostage of her entire populace TO MAKE DEMAND. Those responsible activist or groups in occupying the congress and parliament will be call TERRORIST will be arrested and tried in court.

REMINDER........
_Do NOT violate the woman right. U should NOT use the coed and old lady to become your sentry and to secure your own selfish safety by deploying them outside of the Legislative Yuan. Use the male activist to protect u.

And it is 19 days u violently occupy the Legislative Yuan. According to a reliable insider. GREAT GRAND Croc's are not happy, why so long......without harvesting some fruits.....he wanted..........

Lin Fei Fan is not only making mess around also making many noises, no respect from the law. If he wants to make Taiwan new amendments then join the Group either thru DPP or KMT or make you own organization. I don't understand why the government is allowing such behavior like this... they are called the future.. but then they make fun of the law. Look at how the way he talks. They are many millions of people of Taiwanese people is so upset... why not use their knowledge to make new inventions... think of how Taiwan grow richer not make mess. Such actions in future will cause a civil war for what??? Let us look and study other nations. That's how they start first small organization then make it bigger. Do they want to start a civil war
in Taiwan. Who will benefits for their actions? THINK... many people will die... hungry people, no jobs... so what are you fighting for? The police in the first place should lock them one by one and question them 24 hours non stop...
