Climate change painting contest kicks off in schools

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE) will hold its Climate Change Painting Competition for ages 10-15, with more than 1800 schools participating and nearly ten thousand participating student entries, according to a TAISE press release.

The competition aims to encourage students and teachers to better appreciate the impacts of climate change on the environment, thereby gaining an understanding of the critical importance of combating it, not only as a problem affecting only a small number of countries and organizations, but as a civic responsibility of every global citizen, said the TAISE.

This year's competition theme is "Formosa Rhapsody," exploring "See Taiwan" and relying on creative interpretations through painting to illustrate the past, present and future of the impact of climate change on Taiwan.

The competition will be open for entries from today until April 30, and winning entries will be displayed at the Taoyuan International Airport and Kaohsiung International Airport, the TAISE said. For more information, please check the official website: taise.org.tw
