Warrant for ex-legislator issued after jail no-show

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- A warrant was issued yesterday afternoon for the arrest of former Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) legislator Chang Chun-hung (張俊宏), who failed to appear for his prison sentence.
On Feb. 13, the Supreme Court (最高法院) sentenced Chang to serve a two-year sentence for embezzlement and tunneling company assets during his tenure as chairman of FORMOSA Telecommunication Investment Co., LTD (全民電通投資股份有限公司). Chang was scheduled to be processed for his sentence at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
