Beginning Children's Day, kids under 2 fly free: CAA

TAIPEI -- Taiwan's Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) announced Tuesday that children aged under 2 without seat reservations can take domestic flights for free beginning from Children's Day on April 4, including foreign passengers.

The administration said that currently, local airlines charge 10 percent of the full fare for infants under 2 without seat reservations, while children under 12 get a 25 percent discount.

It is estimated that around 50,000 people could benefit from this policy per year, saving a total of NT$10 million (US$329,160) for travelers, said the CAA.
