TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Taiwan will see one more day of chilly weather today before it welcomes warmer temperatures next week, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) forecast.
A strong continental cold air mass and radiative cooling will bring mercury down to the mid-teens Celsius or lower across Taiwan early today. Temperatures in Taiwan will be as low as 10 degrees Celsius in the North and Northeast and 14 to 16 degrees in Southern Taiwan. Temperatures will go up slightly later in the day, the CWB said.
The CWB forecast mercury to climb day by day starting tomorrow at midday, reaching 22 to 23 degrees Celsius on Monday across Taiwan and even warmer on Tuesday. Warmer weather will also be accompanied by sunshine except in Northeastern Taiwan and the mountainous areas in Northern Taiwan where people will experience sporadic rainfall.
