Raptor-watching season takes flight with events

TAIPEI--As Taiwan's birds of prey prepare to take flight over the next several weeks, the Tourism Bureau is launching a series ecotourism events to celebrate the raptors' northern migration.

The bureau said Wednesday that it will hold guided bird-watching tours at the North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area on April 19, 20 and 27 and May 4 to get a look at gray-faced buzzards and Chinese sparrowhawks.

Hawk fans in southern Taiwan can flock together to similar tours in Kaohsiung's Huang Die Cui Gu (Yellow Butterfly Valley) March 23 and Fongshan Hills on April 26.
