Motorcyclists ride into crowd of demonstrators

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- A dozen motorcyclists barged their way into the crowd protesting against Cross-Strait Trade in Services Agreement outside the Legislative Yuan last night, making their escape 10 minutes later after a minor conflict.

The Central News Agency yesterday reported that just over 10 motorcyclists traveled back and forth outside the police line around the Legislative Yuan, honking their horns. At around 9 p.m., the riders unexpectedly broke through the line on Qingdao East Road, dashing straight into the demonstrators.

Due to the slow speed of the riders, they were stopped by the protesters and no injuries were reported. Sensing that they are at a disadvantage, some of riders swiftly fled the crowd.

Some of the riders caught in the crowd reportedly started arguing with the protesters, who accused the riders of being informants for the police.

Soon later, the organizer talked to the crowed through loudspeaker, calling for calmness and self-control of the protester, allowing those motorbike riders to finally wheel round and dashed for the exit.

Concurrently, eleven protestors were admitted to the hospital last night after reporting not feeling well.
