Cold front could bring rain Wed., low temps Thursday

TAIPEI--The mild weather enjoyed around the country in recent days is likely to give way to rain starting late Wednesday and low temperatures on Thursday as a cold front approaches, the Central Weather Bureau forecast.

Cold, humid weather is expected to last into the weekend, though the unpleasant conditions could let up starting mid-Sunday.

Temperatures across the island are expected to drop Thursday, when daytime highs could plummet by 6-8 degrees Celsius in northern and eastern Taiwan.

Temperatures across the country could hit 13-19 degrees in the north, 16-21 in central Taiwan, and 18-25 degrees in the south, forecasters said.
