TAIPEI--Temperatures in Taiwan could rise over the weekend thanks to a weakening cold air mass, the Central Weather Bureau said Saturday.
Until Sunday, the mercury could hover from 12 to 21 degrees Celsius in northern Taiwan, 14 to 24 degrees in central Taiwan, and 17 to 24 degrees in the south, the bureau said.
Chances of rain are also lower during this period with decreasing moisture in the air, forecasters added.
The generally mild weather is expected to prevail into next Tuesday, when daytime highs across the country could rise above 24 degrees, according to the bureau.
However, another cold front is likely to approach Taiwan next Wednesday, sending temperatures down and bringing rain in northern and eastern parts of the country, it said.
