Taipei IN Style to take to the stage in mid-April

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Taipei IN Style (TIS) 2014 is to kick off its first-ever spring/summer edition from April 17-20 in Taipei, bringing together notable fashion designers from eight regions in Asia including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and China.

TIS, sponsored by the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs since 2006, aims to foster the competitive advantage of Taiwan's fashion industry and encourage related textile businesses to make advances in brand development.

With the ambition to create a better fashion trade platform and spread the idea of fashion week in Taiwan, which has long been practiced by many fashion capitals in the world, TIS will become a biannual event after 2014, in accordance with the seasonal concept of spring/summer and autumn/winter in the fashion world.

According to activity organizer Taiwan Textile Federation, TIS 2014 is expected to attract over 100 fashion brands, including DOUCHANGLEE (竇騰璜張李玉菁) of Taiwan, Spy (劉志華) of Hong Kong, Fang Fang (李小燕) of mainland China as well as La Mode Desir (吳常艶) of Macau.

The TIS 2014 spring/summer edition will take place in Warehouses 4 and 5 of Songshan Cultural and Creative Parks, while the autumn/winter edition will take place between Nov. 6-9 in Warehouses 2 and 3 at the same venue.

The last TIS concluded on Oct. 17, 2013 at the Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall. It was estimated that in 2013 TIS brought in more than US$8 million worth of business for Taiwan and provided a solid foundation for the domestic fashion industry.
