Week ahead to continue to be wet and cold: CWB

TAIPEI--The weather in Taiwan is likely to remain rainy this week until Friday as a cold air mass, carrying moisture, moves in from China, the Central Weather Bureau said yesterday.

Showers, ranging from moderate to heavy, are likely in northern and eastern Taiwan, as well as in mountainous areas of central and southern Taiwan, forecasters said.

The rain is likely to be heaviest on Tuesday, and temperatures are expected to rise steadily until Wednesday, with daytime highs climbing above 20 degrees Celsius island-wide, the weather bureau forecast.

For the next two days, temperatures will range between 13-21 degrees in northern Taiwan, 14-24 degrees in central Taiwan, and 16-25 degrees in southern Taiwan, the bureau said.

Another cold front will move in Thursday, however, sending the mercury down again, forecasters said.
