Hsiao to serve as Cabinet deputy secretary general

TAIPEI--Taiwan's government announced several personnel changes in the Cabinet Saturday, including the appointment of Deputy Interior Minister Hsiao Chia-chi to be the deputy secretary-general of the Executive Yuan.

Hsiao, 53, served for a long time as deputy mayor of Central Taiwan's Taichung City from 2002 to 2013 before joining the Ministry of the Interior.

Deputy Transportation and Communications Minister Chen Chun-ching will take over the post vacated by Hsiao.

And Chen Chien-yu, administrative deputy minister of the Transportation Ministry, will serve as the ministry's political deputy minister.
