TAIPEI -- Taiwan could see more precipitation from Thursday due to moisture moving in from China, the Central Weather Bureau said that day.
Showers to heavy downpours are likely in Northern, Central and Eastern Taiwan, as well as in mountainous areas of Southern Taiwan, forecasters said.
The weather pattern is expected to last into next week, the bureau said, cautioning that strong winds are also likely in coastal areas as seasonal winds strengthen.
Despite the rainfall, daytime high temperatures in northern Taiwan could increase by 3-4 degrees Celsius on Thursday, the bureau said.
The mercury could hover between 14-20 degrees in Northern Taiwan, 15-23 degrees in Central Taiwan, and 18-23 degrees in Southern Taiwan, at least until Friday, the bureau said.
