TAIPEI -- Passengers arriving at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport after a long flight can now freshen up with a hot shower for free right at the arrivals hall.
Travelers landing at or transferring through Terminal II have been able to enjoy the showers since January, while the service will be extended to Terminal I by the end of the month, airport authorities said.
The free service could benefit millions of travelers, especially businesspeople longing to wash up before a meeting.
According to airport statistics, over 14 millions passengers arrived at Taoyuan Airport last year.
In Terminal II, the separate men's and women's shower rooms are located next to the sixth baggage carousel. Each features a changing room with mirrors and seats.
The airport said that when the showers for Terminal I open, they will include a facility for passengers with disabilities.
Fully equipped nursing rooms are also planned for baggage claim at both terminals, and baggage carousels have been extended to accommodate more luggage in an effort to give travelers a more pleasant experience, the airport said.
