The 2014 Taiwan Scholarship opens for Malaysian students
The China Post news staffTAIPEI, Taiwan -- The 2014 Taiwan Scholarship and the Higher Education Scholarship Program are now open for Malaysian students who wish to pursue their higher education in Taiwan.

The main goal of the Taiwan Scholarship is to attract more talented foreign students to Taiwan for academic degrees, and at the same time to create opportunities for educational and cultural exchanges between Taiwanese students and international students. The deadline for the Taiwan Scholarship application is March 31.
For undergraduate programs, the Taiwan Scholarship offers a maximum of a full four-year period. It offers a maximum of two years' sponsorship for master's programs. The scholarship also provides a maximum of four years' support for doctoral program students.
The Taiwan Scholarship recipients' tuition fee and miscellaneous fees are exempted, they receive an additional subsidy between NT$15,000 and NT$20,000 on a monthly basis.
On the other hand, the application deadline for the Higher Education Scholarship Program sponsored by the Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (Taiwan ICDF) is due earlier, on March 14.
The Taiwan ICDF offers scholarships for higher education and has developed academic programs in cooperation with partner universities in Taiwan.
Each scholarship recipient of the Higher Education Scholarship Program will receive a full scholarship, including round-trip flight tickets, a housing subsidy, tuition, insurance, textbook subsidy and a monthly allowance.
