Cold weather to return to Taiwan through weekend

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The Central Weather Bureau (CWB, 中央氣象局) yesterday stated that another cold front may again make its way across Taiwan, causing temperatures to fall as low as 8 degrees Celsius until the weekend.

Warmer conditions and clear skies were reported throughout Taiwan, ranging from 26 to 28 degrees Celsius throughout the western regions and 23 degrees Celsius in the eastern regions.

The CWB, however, announced that the rare break in the recent cold spell is expected to be short-lived, with temperatures expected to dive markedly today in the afternoon. Cloudy conditions and rainfall are expected in Taiwan's northern and northeastern regions beginning this Wednesday, with the most pronounced effects taking place late Thursday evening and early Friday morning. The CWB stated that the latest cold spell would bring less rain than the previous weeks.
