TAIPEI -- Despite Sunday's respite from rainy, cold weather in the north of Taiwan, raindrops will start falling again on Wednesday along with the mercury as a cold air mass moves in from China, the Central Weather Bureau forecast Sunday.
The weather will be warm over the next two days, with highs in the western half of Taiwan ranging from 26-28 degrees Celsius Tuesday, forecasters said.
The east is also expected to see warm highs of 24-26 degrees but with some clouds in the sky.
Good weather in the north and northeast will be short-lived, however, as Wednesday's cold front is expected to blanket those areas with showers.
Though forecasters did not give specific numbers, bureau data indicated that temperatures in Taipei and the northeast could drop to lows of 10-12 degrees, though the south of the country will see less of an impact with highs of around 22.
