Taiwan Water Corp. in full service over holidays

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The Taiwan Water Corp. has maintained that it will remain in full service around the clock during the Chinese New Year Holiday, handling questions and problems as usual.

The company said users can call the hotline “1910” to report problems about water supply or make inquiries about water bills any time during the holiday period, and there will be personnel to handle the calls 24 hours daily.

An average of 470 workers will remain on duty daily during the period to make sure that water supply will remain normal, the company said.

The company said it has also implemented measures and made adjustments to handle surges in demand in some regions.

The company said water use was expected to peak on Chinese New Year Eve yesterday, reaching a total volume of 9.45 million cubic meters, up 8.5 percent compared to the average 8.71 million cubic meters on normal days.
