Housing agent allegedly involved in sex tape scandal, blackmail case

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Local news magazine yesterday published an article claiming that Billy Yen (顏炳立), general manager of Debenham Tie Leung Ltd., was videotaped by a private investigation agency while he was having sex.

The Taipei District Prosecutors Office said it has searched the agency and questioned several persons of interest last year, noting that, however, as the investigation is still ongoing, it cannot comment further on the case.

Next Magazine's article claimed that Yen was videotaped and blackmailed by the private investigation agency, noting that Yen later reported the incident to police.

The article said Yen was being followed because a doctor suspected Yen was having an affair with the doctor's wife, but the agency “accidentally” filmed Yen with another woman. Taipei prosecutors said police were dispatched in October to investigate the filming mishap with seven people deemed at fault.
