Cold, dry weekend ahead for the entire island: CWB

TAIPEI--Taiwan is looking at a cold but dry weekend as a strong cold air mass moves in, the Central Weather Bureau forecast Friday.

Islandwide, average temperatures could drop by two degrees Celsius from Friday's level.

Daytime lows could hover at 10-12 degrees in the northern half of the country and 11-15 degrees in the south.

Sunny to cloudy skies are expected in most areas except for eastern Taiwan, which could see some limited showers.

The lower temperatures could begin easing off late Sunday, but another strong cold air mass is expected to draw near Taiwan Monday and send the mercury dropping again, the bureau said.
