TAIPEI, Taiwan -- After winnings topped at NT$1.2 billion by opening time, the Super Lotto skunked once again last night, marking the 20th time where no one was able to win.
Since reaching the NT$1 billion mark, sales of Super Lotto began to rise at extraordinary rate. Various outlets observed the trend, which has been seen during high winning periods before.
Super Lotto has seen a strange trend this year, where three of the issues accumulated over NT$1 billion after skunking for long periods of time. An issue won in July even had to a single winner who took home NT$2.4 billion in winnings after the issue skunked 24 times.
Taiwan Lottery Co., Ltd. TLC has estimated that the winning that could be won on Dec. 23rd to top NT$1.6 billion, and if there was a single winner, it will mark the second-largest winning this year, and the fourth largest since the lotto was created.
